Twitter Weekly Updates for 2009-05-11
- Day 4: Gooseberry sucked me in. took pictures & thinking of staying. Bigger than I thought. 2-3 ft waves. #
- Spent all day learn about CCC history at Gooseberry State Park, MN. Amazing stone buildings. #
- On a compass heading into a fogbows pot of gold until Two Harbors lighthouse took over. #
- Day 5:Duluth! Staying with guide book author Andrew Slade & family. #
- Landscape so different on WI shore. Clay hills falling into lake. Water color of willie wonka. #
- Day 6: 26miles. Sand beach campsite with breaking waves. Had to spend 2 much time on tent to get it 2 hold in sand & wind. #
- Have a 34F wave spash into yr relief sucks. Attacked by 2 nesting eagles. Water is clear again. Apostles next. #
- Day 7: WI’s Apostle Island’s red sandstone sea caves are a must see. Kayaks jump on a plane now. Made my top 10 list. #
- Day 8: Bayfield after 19 mi and snow. Saw a gray fox and a mirage of running horses. Don’t know what is colder feet, butt, or hands. #

- Lots of concern about my bllisters. Let me count them: 19. Some are healing. They key is to keep my hands dry, which means no gloves. #

- Day 9: Rest day in Ashland. Ilena came over and we drove down to get a hotel. The town of Bayfield is closed in May. Sunny & 50F. #
